Leah has been taking piano lessons at LB Music School for one year. When she started Kindergarten, she expressed an interest in learning an instrument. We decided to start with the piano mainly because we thought it to be a good starting point for a 6 year old. And honestly, nothing but good could come out of this learning experience for her so we did not think twice about signing her up for lessons.

She took to the piano and her fabulous instructor, Scott, immediately. One year later, she has learned to read music and memorized many songs and has put a few of them to good use. She played “Happy Birthday” for me as I prepared to blow out my candles this past October (How awesome is that?!) and at a Holiday Party this past December, she sat at the Hostess’ Baby Grand piano and played “Jingle Bells” for the crowd. Not only has she gained musical knowledge but she also has a great sense of self confidence after seeing what she is capable of. Her instructor, Scott, has done a fantastic job at keeping her engaged. Many times she would come in and ask him how to play different songs that were not in the lesson book. No matter what she asked him to teach her, he did it. This is the kind of instructor you need when you are 6 years old. We could not have asked for better. LB Music School and its staff have by far exceeded our expectations and we would highly recommend it to others.”

“I wouldn’t have become a great soccer player without a coach, and I won’t become a great musician without a music teacher.

I’ve been studying drums for almost two years. I invested in lessons because I found that if I didn’t have the weekly ritual of practicing and learning with my teacher, that I simply wouldn’t play while I was at home. Because of my lessons, I feel more empowered to make mistakes and improvise when I don’t know quite how something will work out. I can always ask my teacher for feedback when I see him later in the week.

I absolutely feel that my investment in drums is worth it. It’s one of my favorite activities and I always feel great when I’ve had a good lesson or session. My son has been taking lessons for about 3 years now. I grew up playing the piano and guitar. It offered me a creative outlet and opportunities to meet children outside of my school. Both Dan and I wanted Daniel to have the option to explore this as well. Daniel is constantly making up his own songs! And, he is always playing his recital song. Thank goodness we love Star Wars. ha ha

I have wanted to take voice lessons for a few years now, but I never clicked with the teachers that I met. Until I met Lauren that is! It was great that I met her when I did because I had signed up to audition for X Factor and really needed some vocal help.

I’ve been playing guitar for over 20 years but I really haven’t improved much, so I decided to get some professional help…it’s been a great experience for me. You can always go on the web and look things up and learn things, but your rate of improvement is going to improve if you have somebody watching you and guiding you through what you’re doing. “I can now play songs from start to finish. I understand the different parts of a song and I am able to read music to help me understand certain parts of playing. I am able to ask questions where I could not without lessons.

I have been a music lover for many years. I retired 5 years ago and bought a drum set as I have always wanted to learn how to play the drums. I self taught myself for about 2 years before I was encouraged to start taking lessons. I finally decided to take lessons because I needed the professional to get me to the next level.

I can  now play songs from start to finish. I understand the different parts of a song and I am able to read music to help me understand certain parts of playing. I am able to ask questions where I could not without lessons. Mostly when I play music on the drums I am able to perfect what I am playing to the point of playing correctly.

This is my first time taking lessons at a music school. I started with half hour every other week and have made the investment of one hour every week because I learned so much but found a half hour was not enough time in one sitting for me. I was eager to learn more because my instructor is very patient. He understands how to get the most out of me each week by pushing my skill level but doesn’t make it so difficult that I cannot handle it. He sends me home with work to practice every week to increase my talent. I enjoy practicing the work at home. I spend some portion of every day practicing which is enjoyment to me.

Yes I would definitely recommend this school. I see how far I have come with my drums over the past two years and I also enjoy Lauren the owner as well as the other staff and students I have been friendly with since I have been a student there. Most of all Michael is highly recommended, he is such a musical genius an he enjoys what he does and I see that every time I am there for my lesson.

“Jayleanna now enjoys singing in front of large crowds which before she started taking lessons she never did. She has definitely come out of her shell thanks to singing lessons.

My daughter Jayleanna, age 8, has been studying vocal lessons since January of 2014 so only 3 months. I invested money in her taking lessons because I thought I was being biased when I would say she has a great voice but then others started telling me the same. Jayleanna now enjoys singing in front of large crowds which before she started taking lessons she never did. She has definitely come out of her shell thanks to singing lessons.

LB Music School is the first place Jayleanna has taken lessons and I have emailed Lauren prior to just let her know we are so happy. Her teacher shows she cares for Jayleanna. I hear the conversation they have on the recorded CD that she gives me each lesson. She will ask about school and what she planning to do, her siblings ect. which of course as a mom makes me feel good that she not only cares about the music lesson she really wants to know my daughter .

I would for sure say that my investment is worth it. Who is worth more to invest in if not your child? I have already put the word out that LB Music School by far is a great place for children to attend for lessons. Jayleanna auditioned for the Disney channel and out of 100 children was asked to come back for a call back. She then auditioned again and only 4 children were called back and Jayleanna was one of them. She sang 2 songs for the producers and we are very excited as her family to see where this takes her. As I know one day she will be on TV. We will owe it to all her supporters including everyone at LB Music. We couldn’t be happier with everyone at LB Music School.”

“I am reliving my youth when I practice guitar and I feel successful at it now. I would highly recommend LB Music School.

My daughter began taking both singing and guitar lesson two years ago from LB Music School and is making incredible progress. Soon after my daughter, then 10, began lessons, I decided to “go for it” and try lessons myself. I looked for another teacher not wanting to “cloud the line” between my daughter’s goal to be a professional and mine to just have fun with it. The other teacher was competent, but I felt I was lacking something in my strumming on the guitar. After a couple of years, I saw how well my daughter was playing in proportion to me. I decided to ask LB Music School to teach me to play guitar.

After a few lessons, I was thrilled at how specific the lessons are and how competent I felt and still feel when I follow the thorough, yet easy steps to learning a song. I’ve learned different strumming patterns, proper hand placement and so much more. Though I may no be Keith Richards or Jimi Hendrix, I am reliving my youth when I practice guitar and I feel successful at it now. I would highly recommend LB Music School. They add the fun element to learning by holding mini showcases and jams with students a few times each year. My daughter loves getting to try out her ‘talents.”

About 6 months ago, I decided to finally take up learning to play guitar, which has always been a dream of mine for a number of years. “Prior to taking lessons I knew two songs (poorly) that a friend of mine had showed me. I had no real concept of what I was doing except how to bang on the strings. Now, I have actually been asked by my friends to play!

I have been taking instruction for almost a year and a half now. I decided that if I was really interested in learning guitar I should take a few lessons. After the first lesson, I was hooked!

Prior to taking lessons I knew two songs (poorly) that a friend of mine had showed me. I had no real concept of what I was doing except how to bang on the strings. Now, I have actually been asked by my friends to play! It’s great to break out at parties and be able to play songs that everyone knows and wants to sing along with.

Several months ago I was transferred for my job and had to move to DC. I spent a month going to see three different teachers with zero success. I called LB Music School up and now me and my teacher meet via Skype each week. Her ability to teach and make the lessons fun is amazing and I am very excited that even with our distance she was able to keep instructing me.

Was my investment in lessons worth the time and money? YES!!!! Let me say that again, YES! Signing up for lessons has been a wonderful experience. My instructor takes the time to explain everything, is always prepared, and seems to have somehow tailored her teaching style just for me. My bet is that everyone feels she does that for them.”

“Last year I became interested in learning to play the guitar. So, I borrowed my father’s acoustic guitar from the 60s and decided to teach myself. The idea sounded good; however, I was not disciplined enough to do it on my own. I came across LB Music School in Medford during an online search and checked it out. Now THAT was a great idea.

My teacher is a very skillful musician and teacher and has been very patient and encouraging with me and her other music students. She progresses her students well and gives constructive advice in a delicate way. She is very open to feedback to ensure student satisfaction. She provides educational experiences, as well as open mics where students (regardless of level) can perform in front of other students. Thirteen months later, and with my new guitar, I still enjoy learning the guitar at LB Music School. I would highly recommend it to anyone of any age and musical talent level.”

“I learned more in my first lesson than I learned in the year that I tried to teach myself! I have been taking a weekly lesson ever since and can’t believe how far I’ve come!

I have been taking guitar lessons at LB Music School for over a year now. When I first got my guitar, I tried for about a year to teach myself – using DVDs, online lessons, and computer tutorials – and after a year, I could still only play about 2 chords. A friend referred me to LB Music School. I learned more in my first lesson than I learned in the year that I tried to teach myself! I have been taking a weekly lesson ever since and can’t believe how far I’ve come! I am much more motivated to practice knowing that I have a scheduled lesson to prepare for, versus when I was trying to learn on my own. I take lessons with Lauren and she is great. She’s very patient and does a good job of teaching songs/techniques at a variety of skill levels. LB Music School also offers extras, like open mic nights for students and opportunities to play with an actual band. I would recommend LB Music School for anyone who is interested in learning how to play guitar (even if you’ve never picked one up!) or who wants to hone their skills.”
