How To Knock Out Self Doubt And Insecurities

Did you know that more people fear public speaking than they do dying?

I’m not kidding.

More people are scared to get up in front of an audience of strangers because they fear what others may think than they would be to die.

Sound crazy?

That’s why I believe music lessons are so important no matter how old you are.

At LB Music School, we not only teach you how to be successful with music, but also how to be successful in life and we want to help you knock out your insecurities and self-doubt right now.

Most people hold themselves back from achieving real success because we get comfortable in life or we are scared of outshining other people. We think:

  1. I’m not good enough compared to….

  2. I don’t deserve to be good at….

  3. What will people say if I make a mistake or mess up?

Sound familiar?

Well believe it or not, I’m actually a pretty shy person.

If you have ever met me, this may come as a shock to you. But yes, I am pretty shy and I would rather sit in a corner and be ignored than have a bunch of people pay attention to me.

When I was younger, I HATED public speaking with a passion and if you asked me to play guitar or sing in front of someone I would shrivel up and die.

One day I decided to ask myself why I was so scared.

I came up with the three reasons listed above. I made a choice to never let fear hold me back again. No matter how scared I was or how much I felt like I wanted to throw up, I would never walk away from an opportunity because of self-doubt or fear.

I decided to take guitar lessons and singing lessons so that I could feel more confident in my abilities and eventually ended up playing front of a crowd of 10,000 on a large stage with a band in Government Center.

You see fear keeps up from experiencing a lot of things and that’s what life is about.

Life is about experiences and being able to share those experiences with others.

That is why, at LB Music School, we really encourage and support our students and instill in them the belief that they can do anything. Because you CAN do anything you want or put your mind to as long as you are determined to reach your goals.

There are not too many places where you can walk through the door and feel empowered to do whatever you want. Our world is so full of people saying “You can’t do that.” Well guess what….

We will never tell any of our students that their dreams are not possible.

In fact, many of our students have exceeded their expectations and have gone on to do things they never dreamed of when they first walked through our door.

So the question I have for you is this:

Are you going to let fear and self-doubt keep you from reaching your musical dreams and having amazing experiences?
